The Ultimates

I just read Ultimates 1. I liked it.

I'm waiting to read Ultimates 1 vol. 2.

Ultimates 2 vol. 2 probably has one of the most epic battles ever witnessed in comics.

Ultimates 1's ending comes close though. The art is fantastic.


And for the love of all that is holy, if you continue reading the series, NEVER TOUCH ULTIMATES 3. It's written by Loeb. And it's almost as painful as Ultimatum.

I never read Ultimatum - was it really that bad? All I've read of it is Ultimate X-Men #100, which tied into Ultimatum.

Ultimatum takes a universe so wonderfully written and does unspeakable things to it.

I'm not going to spoil it, but if you don't even want to know minor details, don't read this: (Basically half of the characters die. In a bunch of horrid ways. In at least one instance, cannibalism. Most of the participants are horribly out-of-character, and the basic plot is that Magneto is trying to distroy humanity. Again.)

I tend to think of Loeb as two different people.

The DC-Loeb is amazing, and I really want to read his work.

The Marvel-Loeb crushes childhoods.
